Hello! Nice to meet you..

I’m Charlie, a Mum of 3 from Manchester, UK.

My son AJ, is autistic non-speaking, with PDA profile, sensory processing delay and ARFID.

We embarked on our journey “officially” in December 2021 when my little guy was diagnosed, and we’ve been winging it ever since!

In April 2024, I took the risk to create an Autism awareness brand, to help raise awareness and reduce stigma around the diagnosis of ASD and everything that comes along with it, with designs different to all those previously available to buy, things I would want to wear myself, designs to catch peoples eye and make them stop and read your T-Shirt or sweatshirt/hoodie, and designs that aren’t “in your face” with rainbow colours, jigsaw pieces and infinity symbols.. which is the usual Autism awareness jargon..

Why you ask? For my son, to reduce the tuts and the stares in public when he’s in crisis and can’t calm down, to get rid of a bit of the ignorance of the general public, or really just the lack of knowledge and make more people aware of why he won’t reply to them when they get in his face expecting him to talk, why he’s likely never going to give a stranger eye contact, or play with your children at the park, how he’s not going to sit down and eat at a party table like the rest of the children in attendance, and you know what, that’s ok, it doesn’t mean he should be excluded from all of those things, infact quite the opposite, and sometimes just a few minor adaptions mean that you can include him, if you just took the time to learn, ask, or do.

Fast forward to now, Neurospicy isn’t just for Autism awareness anymore, it’s a disability awareness brand. It’s a brand to ensure we advocate for everyone, regardless of their disability. A brand that’s going to shout from the rooftops for everyone whose voice needs to be heard, because sometimes, most times from personal experience, the lack of knowledge is abhorrent, and quite frankly, there just isn’t enough awareness
