If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll notice that things look a little different around here. The branding, the colours, the layout - even the website itself, have undergone a quiet transformation.
Gone are the bold, bright tones and busy visuals. In their place is a more neutral, clean, and calming aesthetic.
This change didn’t happen overnight. It’s been a slow, intentional shift — one rooted in honesty, growth, and, most of all, self-awareness.
A Visual Reflection of a Neurospicy Mind
When I first started Neurospicy, the vision was clear: loud, proud, and unapologetically seen. I wanted the brand to scream joy, colour, inclusion, and fun - because that’s what I felt neurodiversity deserved.
I’ve always chose bold graphics, colourful accents, wild fonts, and layers upon layers of design. I thought that if I made it eye-catching enough, people would notice.
But here’s the thing I’ve come to realise - in trying to grab attention, I started losing the calm. The visual noise became overwhelming, not just for others, but for me too.
Every time I visited the site or designed new graphics, I felt overstimulated. My brain, already full of tabs and tangents didn’t need more chaos. I was trying to keep up with trends, to fit into the expectations of what a “fun” brand should look like.
But that’s not where I thrive. That’s not where we thrive.
The World Is Already Loud — We Don’t Have to Be
Living in a neurotypical world as a neurodivergent person often means trying to adapt, mask, and make yourself more palatable. That mindset crept into the brand in ways I didn’t expect. I wanted to prove that we belonged, that we were enough, by making everything bigger, brighter, louder. But in doing so, I forgot that our power doesn’t come from shouting the loudest — it comes from authenticity.
And honestly? The clothes are bold enough. They’re playful, expressive, and bright — just like us. But our platform, our messaging, our space — that needed to feel safe. Grounded. Regulated.
The world is already so overstimulating. Social media, news, bright lights, notifications, expectations - it’s a lot. So this rebrand is an intentional pause. A breath. A sensory-friendly exhale.
Simple, Neutral, and Neurospicy
So, what’s changed?
- A calmer, more neutral colour palette that soothes rather than stimulates
- Clean and simple navigation that doesn’t require cognitive cartwheels to find what you’re looking for
- Minimalist design to give your brain a break, while letting our products speak for themselves
- A more accessible layout that reflects our commitment to inclusivity, not just in what we say — but how we say it
It’s not just about aesthetics — it’s about alignment. This new direction reflects where I’m at, both personally and professionally. It’s where many of us are at: learning to honour our needs, our sensory profiles, and our peace.
We’re Still Us, Just Regulated
Neurospicy will always be a space that champions neurodiversity, disability pride, and self-expression. That hasn’t changed. Our mission is still the same: to celebrate the wonderful ways our brains work, and to remind you that you are not alone.
We’ve just turned the volume down a little. Not because we’re ashamed of who we are, but because we’re tired of pretending we have to shout to be heard.
This rebrand is a love letter to everyone who’s ever felt like too much and not enough - sometimes in the same breath. It’s a reminder that simplicity is not boring. Neutral is not bland. Calm is not giving up. It’s clarity. It’s space. It’s safety.
Thank you for growing with us. For staying, even when things were messy. For being part of this community that holds so much colour, even in the quietest hues
We’re still Neurospicy - just a little more grounded.
Back to calm. Back to simple.
And always, back to you.
